I was in the car with my family and my mom was talking about how much time she thinks “our generation wastes on the internet” or whatever. And I was explaining how I use the internet to read and curate more interests and hobbies and expand my social horizons etc. and she was just like “Well fine if that’s how you want to live. You can waste all your time on the internet if that’s what you want but I beg to differ” and without thinking I just said “then beg.” and the entire car went silent until we got home. it was the biggest power move i have ever made to date

I realize the reblog I did does come off more aggressive than I’d intended, if you want to unfollow me because of that trump post, go ahead. I hate making people uncomfortable, so if you believing following me in the future might give you discomfort – go right ahead. I’ve stated my opinion and told you why I have it. If you voted for Trump because you believe he could make good change, I get it, your opinion is yours. No one should be threatening or attacking you for that, and I am not attempting to send hate your way for your political beliefs. I don’t encourage others to attack you for it either.

But regardless of what people thought he could do that was good before NOW, Trump still shouldn’t be supported at this point. I mean in a sense of people singing his praises right now. If you thought he was good before he became president and voted him in cause of that, thats all you, I’m not judging on that because honestly he could’ve surprised us all and been perfect, but at this point if you still continue to think that he’s a good person, who’s trying to do good things, yeah, thats what I have a problem with. Beyond your beliefs of the nation, what political party you voted on, what problems you wanted solved – Power has been given to a man who spreads intolerance and hate. Dehumanizing and demonizing people for things often they have no control over. you believe he can do something for this country that is good, but what I’ve seen so far is that he’s given people who are hateful a perch to say what they like with acceptance and support behind them. Things that aren’t opinions, but denial of basic human decency. This is something I don’t align myself with.

I’ve read a couple times in your messages, “don’t mix your personal feelings with politics” – and y’know what, maybe I shouldn’t. But how can I take my personal feelings and morals out of ‘politics’ if said politics snatches children from their families, and dehumanizes people for the actions of few. Feelings and morals were used as a call to action to kick immigrants out of our country, the grief of loosing someone close to you used as a fucking ploy, in order to make immigrants look evil. I wouldn’t be putting my personal feelings or morals into politics if I wasn’t acutely aware that someones kid was sitting in a room millions of miles from their family being judged on where they came from. What if that was you? What if that was your kid? Can you look at that and really call it politics?

So you can call this hate or me attacking you, but I assure you this is me telling you what needs to be said.

Who gives a shit about politics, I give a shit about people – and he most obviously doesn’t. Go ahead and support him because you want certain things to get done in the country you believe he can do, but don’t you deny for a second that he’s using the power he has to hurt others – at this point supporting him isn’t just political, you’re supporting someone who is irresponsible and dangerous.

Thats all I have left to say on the subject, I’m done talking about it so stop messaging me trying to frame it as if I’m not thinking it through and trying to convince me as if trump is doing things for the greater good. If you don’t want to follow me considering my opinions feel free, I understand the discomfort and I encourage you to find a place you feel safe.
