The plan for the 17th, when the adult content ban comes in, is to protest.
To do that, we are making as much noise either side of the 17th as possible, and using the site as normal.
On the 17th, dead silence.
People are saying log off but what they really mean is donât open the site or the app.
But, on the 17th make as much noise as possible on every other platform. Tweet about it and post on facebook and instagram and everywhere else.
What this does is causes a massive dip in ad revenue for one single day. That does not make staff think âoh everyoneâs gone letâs shut down.â What it actually makes them think is âoh shit people arenât happy and if people donât keep using our site weâre out of money and out of jobs.â
A boycott reminds a company that the users (consumers) have the power to make their site (business) worthless with one single coordinated decision.
If you want to join in, hereâs what to do:
Do:
Close all open instances of the app and site on all your devices before the 17th
Make posts before and after the 17th on tumblr and other platforms, talking about why this ban is bad
Make posts on other sites during the 17th. Flood the official tumblr staff twitter and facebook with your anger and your opinion
Come back on the 18th and check in
Donât:
Delete the app from your phone (this doesnât affect their revenue and since itâs off the store at the moment itâll be hard to get back)
Delete your account. I mean you can if you want to, but if you keep your account and donât use it youâre saying to staff that thereâs still time to save it. If you delete itâs hard work to come back.
Open the app or website (including specific blogs)
Make any posts (turn down/off your queue and make sure nothing is scheduled)
Go quiet elsewhere. Make it clear that this is just about tumblr, not a mass move away from all social media.
Remember: the execs donât care about anything but money. Shutting down the site means thereâs $0 further income from it. Thatâs their last possible course of action. If we make it clear weâre not happy, theyâll have to do something or we can do more and more until it becomes too expensive.
Protests take commitment. Theyâre a defiant action against a business that is doing something wrong. They will try to scare you into not participating, because theyâre scared. We hold all the power here, sometimes the execs just need to be reminded of that.

Don’t question people’s triggers okay? Just be a decent person and don’t. Just because their triggers may seem weird or silly to you doesn’t mean it is to them, and if they choose to not explain why those things are their triggers then leave it at that. 9 times out of ten they’d rather not bring it up, but if they do decide to explain them to you then you better listen. And for crying out loud don’t judge. as said before, just because the triggers might seem odd to you doesn’t mean they’re not a big deal to them.
Great question! When youâre starting to work in digital art, layers can be incredibly confusing to start out with. They seem almost like magic⊠but what are they, really?
Personally I also work in Medibang, so I think these screenshots will be helpful.
To begin with, letâs take this picture of a zebra I drew a little while ago:
It seems like thereâs a LOT going on here. But actually, layers make it easier than ever to make your drawings feel nice and clean digitally. Lots of programs also have specialized tools to help you color effortlessly – and itâs VERY different from the traditional method of being careful to not color outside the lines.
First of all, letâs take a look at layers. What ARE layers? They are⊠well⊠a way to organize your art, for a start. Anything on the top layer will be BOSS and will (generally) be on top of everything else. Thatâs why most artists use the top layer for lineart, as you yourself said.Â
Artists can use SO MANY LAYERS. Like, some artists use 100+ layers in one piece. But thatâs a lot, so letâs start with⊠3. Just 3 simple layers. For exampleâŠ
Now, letâs say you have this lineart and you want to color it. The color will go on the bottom, so that it doesnât interfere with the lineart layer. But how do you color it? Well, you COULD do the very slow and tedious process of going over it bit by bit.Â
But thatâs honestly very tedious and no one actually likes it. It leaves a lot of room for error, and it takes forEVER.
Instead, letâs make this easier.
HOW TO COLOR USING THE SELECT TOOL!
First of all, this requires that your lineart not have gaps. That means all black lines are connected.Â
Second, letâs go to our color layer and make sure itâs selected (and not the lineart layer)
Next, use the magic select tool on the left hand side. It looks like a little magic wand.
Click on the empty space you WANT to color. In my case, itâll be the scarf area. Medbang will sense the area based on the visible lineart layer, even though you are still technically on the color layer.
(you can select multiple areas, like the two little ends of the scarf, by holding down the Shift key and clicking those areas)
The next bit is a bit more technical.
With these parts selected, you COULD just use the bucket tool and fill everything in. BUT, with the way digital programs work, you might end up with a VEEEERY thin layer of white between your lineart and your colors.
So what I (and a lot of artists) do instead is manually expand that selected area by just a few pixels to make sure that border is caught in the all-encompassing COLOR CONQUEST.Â
To do this, just go upstairs to the âselectâ menu and click âexpandâ. Give it a few pixels, hit enter, and THEN use a filling technique of choice. I just throw a large square over the area.Â
Now, I know what youâre thinking. âokay, I have the flat colors. But what if I need to add details, like shading and patterns?â
Let me introduce you to our friendâŠ. CLIPPING!
What is clipping? I thought you might ask. Well, consider this scenario. You have your color layer, your lineart layer – and between them – your shading layer. You want to shade stuff, but again, you might have to go through and color things bit by bit so as to make sure nothing goes outside of the lineart.Â
BUT look there! Whatâs that checkbox up at the top? Itâs a bird! Itâs a plane! ItâsâŠ. CLIPPING!
Go ahead and check that box – and it will trap your Shading layer in a prisonâŠ. a prison of the color layer!
Basically, clipping means you lock the layer onto the layer directly underneath it, and the shading will ONLY affect whatever exists below it. If you didnât color outside the lines⊠the shading will also not cross that border.
Voila!
Now, layers are MUCH much more than this. We could probably have an entire class just about layers. However, I recommend just playing around and discovering as much as you can on your own. Digital art is a lot of fun, and opens many doors. You can allow layers to interact with each other in many crazy ways – thereâs settings like âLightenâ and âMultiplyâ and âOverlayâ that all have different functions and allow you to play with colors quickly and easily for your art.Â
If you are considering meeting up with someone online use this trick identify who really are who they claim to be:
1. Ask them to Skype 2. If they refuse or canât for some reason ask for a current selfie 3. If they also refuse or canât do not meet up with them 4. If they provide one ask them to send another with them holding 3 fingers up 5. If they refuse read step 3 6. If they provide a selfie where they show 3 fingers they are probably for real
(If youâre still unconvinced try again with them drawing something in their hand)
I SAY THIS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY please spread this message as more and more young people are lured out into situations where they get kidnapped because they werenât 100% sure the person they were talking to was real.
ALSO IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MAKE SURE YOU STATE THE FOLLOWING:
âMy [fill in trusted adult here] wants to come too. [pronoun] said we can do our own thing and [pronoun] will just sort of grab [pronoun] own table, but I wanted to let you know. Hey, if you have an adult coming too they could sit together!â
If hearing this freaks the other person out and they decline, TERMINATE ALL CONTACT. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, go directly to block. Iâm 26 years old and if you tell me youâre coming with a friend or parent for your own safety, I will automatically say âhey, cool. Yâknow, if youâre nervous we can just do Starbucks or something, Iâm okay meeting in a busy place. That way your [adult/friend] can hang out, too, and they donât have to pay for [admission, a movie ticket, whatever].â Your safety and comfort is important to me, and is important to any good person you meet online who wants to meet up IRL. In the early 2000s when I first started seeing online safety PSAs, this was a widely-spread tip. Use it.
And for the record, you can use this over the age of 18, too. I still wonât meet people from online except in public places. You never knowâthat person holding up three fingers and drawing a Pokemon on their palm could be some pervertâs child, niece, nephew, family friendâs kid who was encouraged to take some silly pictures. Always voice-verify and always meet in public, with another person if possible.Â
Be smart and stay safe, kiddos. Nina loves you.
This is all so important for everyone and especially my younger followers.
Anyone who is being upfront with who they are and who you can trust will do whatever they need to do to make you and your parents/guardians comfortable. Hence why I am constantly requesting to too-busy-dancing13 to FaceTime her momâŠ
Please please please listen to this. Not everyone out there can be trusted.
FUCKING SIGNAL BOOST!!
Iâm in my 30s. My long-time internet friend is also in her 30s. She lives in Chicago area. When a work trip took me out that way, we arranged to meet up.
In a public place.
With members of her family there.
Youâre never too old for this kind of basic safety stuff. Donât be too casual about it. I knew her for 12 years before we met in person and I was absolutely not insulted that she still wanted that extra layer of protection.
Anyone who blows off your desire to be safe isnât really your friend and isnât safe to meet.
The other day at the mall i saw a 15 year old sitting in a Claireâs piercing booth and it took every fiber in my being to not just grab her and take her to the actual, clean and sanitary and not guaranteed to fuck up your ears tattoo shop literally next door. Like I was frantic. Snakes manifested in my house
Piercing guns almost ALWAYS cause infections
They hurt more because they jam dull jewelry into your ear
Needles from a professional are designed to allow for minimum damage thus less pain.
The people working there literally have no idea what the fuck theyâre doing and just guess it with a 1 hour training video vs a professional who trained under a mentor for at least a year and has a passion in the craft
They use bad metal for healings (copper, silver, etc) that can irritate ears. Surgical grade steel should be the only thing in your healing piercings
They put them on way to tight, causing swelling issues. Swelling is normal and piercings should be large enough to allow for that
They give you shit aftercare advice and cleaner (literally just buy saline solution at Spencerâs or hot topic for 8 dollars at the most and donât touch them at all)
If done on cartilage it can LITERALLY SHATTER YOUR EARS
Please if any young girls in your family want their ears pierced take them to actual professional and donât trust piercing guns. If a professional says your kid is too young (I.e a fucking baby) then trust their professional judgement. It costs more but you are getting essentially a art piece from a highly trained professional who knows what theyâre doing vs a part time min wage employee who had 1 hour training on how to pierce ears.
I literally wrote an entire essay in college why piercing guns should be banned with pictures and my professor told me she was so interested in my topic and had no idea and even googled the topic herself out of curiosity and was horrified on the amount of damage they case
I am a licensed piercing professional and this is all sound and accurate advice. Get your piercings done by a licensed professional at a reputable shop. Not at the mall kiosk that uses piercing guns. Not by your friend who ordered a kit off of Amazon.Â
Association of Professional Piercers Aftercare Guide:
I refused to get any of my kidsâ ears pierced until they would be able to make the decision for themselves. I canât tell you how many people gave me shit for not taking them to a walmart kiosk or the mall to get them done. I nearly came to blows with my ex-mother in law over my refusal to get my eldestâs ears pierced that way.
My eldest daughter asked why her ears arenât pierced yet, and I explained that I wanted to give her the choice, because I was taken to a Claireâs at about 11 years old, and had them done with a gun. Which hurt so much, I didnât want her to be in pain like I was. I promised her that if she wanted them done later in life, I would take her to the piercing parlor and hold her hand if she needed it.
I didnât tell her that my mother and the sales associates held me down to do it, or that it took about 3 years for my ears to stop seeping fluids (not counting the scars around the piercings, or my metal allergy that started after I got them done.)Â
Donât fucking do that shit to your kids, especially little babies, I heard one person say that they wanted to get their newbornâs ears pierced at the mall, and I had to leave the area before I was arrested for stealing the baby away like the Evil Witch everyone thought I was to raise her as my own.
Never put anything but stainless steel in your freshly pierced ears, guys!
No matter what people tell you.Â
Cheap gold and silver piercing will cause allergies. Not that you wonât be allergic later anyway but you donât want that shit on open wounds!
There is a lot of truth to this. I got my ears pierced with a gun around 20 years ago and it took forever for one of my piercings to heal. I still have some issues with them. Furthermore, I now have a metal allergy that is so bad that I can only wear platinum in my ears. Anything else causes them to itch and burn.
Piercings donât cause metal allergy.Â
You have an allergy because you have a faulty switch in your immune system. This might be accidental or hereditary.Â
But allergies break out when you come into contact with the allergen. And the more you come into contact, the more your system reacts.Â
You might have a dozen bee stings and the thirteenth will almost kill you because your body escalates the response.Â
Youâre probably not allergic to gold or silver but to chrome and nickel. Both are used to keep cheap jewelry shiny and are incredibly common allergens.Â
Platinum jewelry usually is higher priced, which is why there are less additives.Â
But if you wanna be sure: surgical steel, especially for piercings. High grade gold and sterling silver jewelry might work, too.Â
But! Cheap jewelry in open wounds from piercings spell catastrophe because direct blood contact with allergens and an imune response.Â
Itâs important to make sure youâre getting an appropriate grade of stainless steel, which is well finished. There is some lousy quality cheap âsurgical steelâ labeled piercing jewelry out there. Much better to go with well-known brands used by professionals, whether or not itâs for a new piercing.
Titanium is also a great choice (with some similar quality considerations), and a lot of piercers prefer to use that. Reactions to titanium (or niobium) are even less likely than with 316L/316LVM stainless steel, especially for people who are very sensitive to nickel. An unusual problem with the 316L/316LVM, but it is a possibility.
Not a professional myself, but Iâve known people who areâwho were also pretty vocal about inappropriate jewelry for new piercings in particular. With some stories about horrible results theyâve seen. Never mind the guns đš
I was on my way home from work and I was robbed and he took $450 from me (I know Iâm fucking stupid for carrying that on me but I had just cashed my check that day) and this really fucking sucks because I was going to use that money to get medication and treatment for my dog that has been having seizures.
I already have ptsd from being fucking homeless and now this. Iâm genuinely scared to go outside. If anyone can send me anything please I would appreciate or at least share this.
I donât speak to my mother and I havenât seen my dad since I was 7 its safe to say I donât have any parents to help me through this

The map flag had the same color scheme as the pan flag and now theyâre switching to the bi flag
If you see anyone with this flag or any variation
Run
Donât fucking hesitate to block because pedos are now using this new âflagâ and other forms of it
Can I get a signal boost from larger accounts? Start tagging people so this will spread
this is especially important for you kiddos following me, if you see someone with this flag on their blog, DONâT interact with them. donât even try to pick a fight with them, its not worth risking your safety over. please stay safe..
This blog accepts any pride flag with a smile and open arms đ
Heya i dont understand, im bisexual, so why is there another flag with the colours. And is it pedophilia??
Im assuming the pedophile flag just has something to do with the green circle and the lines coming to the middle of that circle. Iâm just gonna call it the âWheelâ of the flag.
( here it is again do you can see it for yourself )
I would assume they mix their actual sexuality and tie it in with children.. such as using bisexual colors with the wheel, gay, lesbian etc.
I suggest staying from the âwheelâ as far as possible.. especially if youâre a minor. I donât deem these kind of people safeâŠ
