Itās Hanukkah and Iām getting asks like this which is nice. š anyway my paypal is transdragoning@gmail.com
You know itās Hanukkah, I have been getting messages like this all day and becoming increasingly violent, I have hardly any food and Iām over 200 in the negative so I could keep light and heat on this cold December.
So once again my paypal is transdragoning@gmail.com if anyone wants to help me out
Anyway the last point I have to make here is that even if tumblr breaks under the algorithm (almost certain if they donāt back out of using it) and/or everybody leaves⦠I donāt have anywhere else to go or post things
people like to joke about it being bad, but I legitimately really like Tumblr. it actually feels like a blogging platform in a world where facebook and twitter are active political weapons that manipulate us elections. i donāt feel like iām baring myself to content i donāt want to see here, or having to engage with a popularity-focused culture. the content isnāt sorted to influence you or trick you. itās a bunch of people being themselves on their own terms. itās oldnet.
yes, i do use other websites, but iām not interested in posting personal things to any of them. this was a place i had control over and iāll stay with it until i canāt. and when that happens thereāll be nothing left.
I also really like tumblr. Iāve never been on the ātumblr is a hellsiteā train.
Today sucks.
It runs like a hellsite but I liked being able to curate a very specific experience here, that I donāt think I can do on any of my other social media. Iāve created a Twitter handle specifically so I can follow my favorite blogs as they exit until someone else (pillowfort, apparently?) can support what I liked about this site. I hate Facebookās lack of anonymity and required mutualism, I dislike Twitterās interface, Iāve never gotten into discord or whatever the others are⦠So Iām just sad, mostly, that Iām going to lose this just as I was really getting into it.
Same here, Iāve always loved TumblrĀ despite all of the bs this site goes through, but this definitelyĀ takes the cake. Iād alwaysĀ run to this site whenever I needed a break from life, I’veĀ used TumblrĀ more than I’veĀ used any other social media and now it’s getting swept out from everyoneās feet. I don’tĀ even run any n s f w blogs and Iām scrambling trying to find everyone I follow onĀ other sites because even things that are s f w are being flagged. Its only been a day, who knows how many innocent people have been deactivated already…Ā
I hate this so much, Tumblr was the one place that I could chill out and be 100% myself, carefree; a place where I could meet other people who had the same interests as me and where I could hide from the politics and homophobicsĀ but now this site only gives me intense anxiety as Iām waitingĀ for the next person to disappear; I can barely have a complete thought that’sĀ clear enough to type an understandable sentence, auto correct is basically writing this for me
Summarized : Ana is a competitive dancer and a dance teacher. She was brutally assaulted on her way home. She was raped, stabbed and beaten. Ana suffered physical trauma as well as deep psychological trauma. She will be spending another month in a hospital, which leaves her with no income. Her friends and family are hoping Ana will be able to fullfil one of her biggest dream – to compete in a Latin dance competition abroad in Vienna in 6 months. She also needs to cover her medical bills, therapies and basic necessities.
This is Ana, my best friend of 12 years. She is an amazing competitive Latin and Ballroom dancer who won numerous competitions and awards. She is also one of the kindest, most caring people I know. When we first met, 12 years ago, I didnāt speak a word of English as I am a daughter of Czech immigrants who moved to New York a month before Ana and I met. She was the first person in this strange new place who made me feel like I belonged. Every day she would help me with homework and practise English with me. After 3 months of her constant help, I became nearly fluent.
A week ago, something unthinkable happened to Ana.
Considering that Cindaquil is one of my favorite starter I have nothing to complain about !
I was born in January so I got a lower number, #33! Got the little bud Nidorino ;u; I remember evolving my first little Nidorino all the way into Nido King and he was the ultimate beast š
theres a new product by verzion called āhumā that allows your parents to track your car and places you go, if your parents are controlling like mine please check under your steering wheel to make sure that they havent installed this
here is what it looks like installed:
you can read more about it here, and here–Ā this excerpt sums up what information Hum will send:Ā
āa carās owner will be able to get notified on their phone when the vehicle leaves a pre-determined area or drives faster than a set speed⦠[Hum] will enable location tracking and a driving log, which measures travel times, engine idle times, and average speeds.āĀ
People in abusive relationships, please check your cars.
DO NOT TRY TO UNPLUG IT BY YOURSELF!
To add to this nightmare, Iāve just heard of a thing called ForceField where people get to monitor and block internet sites that youāre going on if they donāt approve.
It tells the user what sites/apps youāre going on, for how long youāre on them, and WHERE YOU ARE ON AN UPDATING MAP.
So you know if youāre in an abusive household and use sites like tumblr to escape and talk to friends, you could be cut off from that.
They say āitās not spywareā but it sure sounds controlling and creepy to me.
signalboost
God. Fuck. Thatās scary.
Life 360 is another tracker. My parents have used it on me, not allowing me to delete it from my phone, and sometimes even demanding selfies to prove I was where the map said. (As if Iād go anywhere without my phone)
SpectorPro is another one. Afaik it canāt track location, but it takes screenshots roughly every 20sec to allow the installer to watch a video of your computer activity. It also tracks all keystrokes, so passwords arenāt safe, and records any website you visit + the duration. Itās incredibly creepy and a huge violation of privacy, and was one of the cornerstones of my abuse as a kid.
even if youāre not in an abusive relationship/family, please spread this because you might have just saved someoneās life
my parents use life360 and while weāre on the subject of tracking internet, Xfinityās wifi allows the installer to have certain modes on a phone such asĀ ābedtime modeā which pauses the wifi from the IP so theres no way to disable it unless you get rid of the serial number on the installerās device, i think it also has a way to block certain youtube videos and websites, again, from the ip, the world is fucked, so beware and DONāT GET XFINITYWIFI!!!!
As I asked you last time for @cursetaleā, I count on you for spreading the word, guys! QuQ (Like, I always appreciate a like ā„ , but here a reblog would actually help me spreading the informations, giving you my eternal thanks for that!)
š±BIG MOOD! š±
Ā Taking a page from Blessās book! Come check us out on other platforms, we work closely together!
Hey fellow creators! So, as some folks may have recently become aware, Tumblr posts with external links donāt show up in relevant tags (as detailed in this post). IE, if you post a Steven Universe picture and tag it āSteven Universeā and thereās an external link in the post, it wonāt actually show up in the āSteven Universeā tag! This is very frustrating! What if I make a post and want to link to my Twitter in the description? What if I want to link people to my online store when I post a piece of art? What if I want to link to a YouTube video and still have it show up under the relevant tags I put into the post?
Hold on to your butts kids cuz hereās how we cheat the system.Ā
ā
The thing about Tumblrās Anti-Linking nonsense works is that it only blocks external links. Internal links are fine. So if you wanted to post a link to another Tumblr post, or someoneās Tumblr blog, youāre good. But if you wanted to link to your Twitter page or something, youāre screwed. So, all we gotta do is make your external link into a Tumblr link. Sounds weird. I know. But hereās how it works.Ā
First, go to your Tumblr blog. Hit the āEdit Themeā tab.Ā
In the theme editor sidebar, scroll all the way to the bottom, theĀ āPageā section. (Hereās what mine looks like- I already have a few of these set up)
HitĀ āAdd a Pageā, and this window will pop up. By default itās set to be a Standard Page. Hit the dropdown and selectĀ āredirectā.Ā
For this example, letās say I want to link to my Twitter page. Iāll name the pageĀ āTwitterā (this is what the redirect URL will end up being- IE yourblogname.tumblr.com/Twitter), and insert my Twitter URL under theĀ āRedirect Toā tab. LeaveĀ āShow a link to this pageā turned off. (Unless you want the link to show up on your blog, in which case, turn it on. Do what you want, Iām not your mom)
HitĀ āSaveā, and your new page should now show up on your Page list!
And done! So now, letās say I wanted to use the new link in the text portion of a post. Simply use the Tumblr redirect link instead of the direct URL! As a test, I linked to my Twitter in a test post, using the redirect link instead of the direct link, and there it is in the tag! Success!
I recommend making a Redirect Page for any external links youāll be using frequently. I like to post links to my webcomic/Twitter in posts fairly often, but doing that made me take a pretty big hit since my posts wouldnāt show up in tags. With this method, I can keep the external links, and have stuff show up when I tag it! Workarounds are fun!Ā
Tumblr has made and official statement on twitter about whatās going on:
Weāre committed to helping build a safe online environment for all users, and we have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to media featuring child sexual exploitation and abuse. As this is an industry-wide problem, we work collaboratively with our industry peers and partners like NCMEC to actively monitor content uploaded to the platform. Every image uploaded to Tumblr is scanned against an industry database of known child sexual abuse material, and images that are detected never reach the platform. A routine audit discovered content on our platform that had not yet been included in the industry database. We immediately removed this content. Content safeguards are a challenging aspect of operating scaled platforms. Weāre continuously assessing further steps we can take to improve and there is no higher priority for our team.
Please please please, for the love of everything, stop spreading fear in our community. They are not purging your blogs for having NSFW content. If your blog gets deleted and you didnāt have any of the above mentioned content, or something that could be percived as such, then please contact Tumblr Support to regain your blog. They can be contacted via the form here.
Please reblog so people stop spreading false information and cause unnecesary fear.
