Geezer louisers you guys got quESTIONS. Imma try to answer some of em and throw in some stuff on my own. I might answer more later, but rn I’m tireeeedddddd so here ya go night night. 

so starting question: 

Yes on justice and kindness, but the outer ring of my eyes is actually dark blue which is as far as Alph understood, integrity. Why it is darker than the others? Yeah, she thinks it might have to do why I can’t use any of the magic I have. But the whole one or all thing is also sort of complicated. Human souls most often carry bits and pieces of all 7 soul traits. I mean there is a time in everyones lives where we all must find determination, or kindness or show integrity. However, despite that, souls only usually have one representative color. So even if you were to be equal in two traits, your soul is going to go with one in particular. Like for example with Frisk. They exemplify all the traits, but they most clearly exemplify determination – therefore they’re eyes and soul are red. This is the case for most every mage, except, as I said in the addition to my eyes post: passing down the ability to wield strong magic or several types of magic is something powerful mages were able to do. Which is basically the case with me. Somewhere up in my bloodline, someone must’ve been a damn strong mage that could wield three types of magic so rather than just be one trait and one type of magic I can use… I can use three! or I should be able to use three… Unfortunately I cannot which is just… Like like your handed a million dollars but its all counterfeit? Its just bullshit???

Alph also told me if my magic had worked, I would’ve been able to heal myself and others with kindness, and with justice make someone stronger… She explained it in RPG terms, so sort of like a team shaman upping your stats without you really having to kill anybody. Which would’ve been so cool if it actually like was a thing I could do? As for dark blue, yeah she guessed possibly just gravity magic like sans and papyrus but there is a lot to (re) learn about humans souls since the monster archives aren’t open for viewing. 

next question!:

Yes and no? You can’t exactly hide the fact that you are a mage, there isn’t a known incantation or spell or whatever you’d like to call it that make it so you soul doesn’t look like that of a mages. However, covering the leaking simply allows you to block the physical appearance of the leaks that come through your eyes. It makes it so monsters can’t read the intimate parts of your mind and soul through your eyes, and makes your eyes appear more like that of an average humans. But if a monster were to initiate a confrontation and pull out your soul they would DEFINITELY know if you had magic beyond the normal. after all, the term ‘baring your soul’ means to expose everything about yourself, so…. yeah

Well… they don’t have to? I mean they are not obligated by law not to have their eyes open and their are plenty of other ways of hiding your eyes without that. Like I just shove my hair in my face, it blocks others from seeing my eyes but not me from seeing things. Only if I get really irritated with my hair being in my face do I usually close my eyes… Some people use sunglasses, and others try using colored contacts (which sort of work? they block out how your eyes look and can occasionally hide your thoughts and feelings etc, but most of the time they just make it harder for monsters to figure out why they’re getting all this information while looking at your seemingly normal eyes). Its mostly by choice that people are hiding their eyes, but there are a few who don’t. I mean the population of mages is not too big, still kinda small, so its a slim chance you’ll run into a mage that isn’t aware they are basically flashing monsters their souls… but some just don’t care? Either they are fine with being absolutely open or they are doing it purposely to make monsters uncomfortable – or they just don’t want to hide their eyes which is respectable. For me at least, I don’t want to self share all that biz unless I’m having trouble getting out what I need to say. But nope, no one can really turn it off or anything – its not a matter of how strong you are at magic that makes the leaking stop its got to do with being in tune with your soul. Hence why monsters were able to figure out how to stop the leaking long ago, they are completely made out of magic after-all and actually use and are able to pull out their souls…. Where as humans knew for a long time, then stopped believing and now suddenly have knowledge and proof souls exist! 

Uhhhh YES? Imagine the first time a monster approached and was like “Hey, no offense but like… Your soul is out there, like FULLY, on display? I know about that time you tried to jump a creek and fell in and got bitten by leeches??? LIKE SORRY BUT–” 

or, if you’re thinking about something weird and then accidentally make eye contact with your friend and they just fucking cackle and question why you’re wondering if hibernating bears poop in their sleep (which no, some do not. They make something called a fecal plug to keep from going to the bathroom during their long naps! :D)

All in all souls are kind of complicated. Sometimes showing your soul to others can be a form of ‘I want you to understand but I don’t know how to say it’ sort of thing, why the other can read the intentions. Its soul sharing, and its often had between friends, family or partners after something like a bad fight or a loved one passes away. However, in most of those cases its something monster do with other monsters and because they are naturally in-tune with their souls they know how to keep from oversharing the way us humans can’t help but do. 

Basically; humans are just like really bad at magic. Maybe there are some humans out there that have trained and are secret mages passed down for generations but they are very hidden and probably not gonna get found out if they don’t want to be. The rest of us baby mages just gonna have to overshare until someone says ‘ah fuck it lets help these dumb babies’ and trains us in the ways of hidey-eye-magics.
